Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Brain Surgery

Minimally Invasive Endoscopic brain surgery

In minimally invasive brain surgery we intend reaching the pathology (exp. tumor) through natural openings, like a nostril or small incisions with minimal or no brain retraction.

It is well known that brain retraction during the surgery has short term and long term sequences:

  • For the short term, recovery from the surgery and hospital stay takes longer.
  • For long term, brain damage may occur with psycho-social and cognitive changes.

With minimally invasive endoscopic surgery we are avoiding brain retraction and insertion of the endoscope requires smaller opening and less brain retraction when compared with the conventional microscopic surgery.

Visualization and though defining the pathology from the normal tissue is easier and makes surgery safer.
